“Here at Van der Werff Shipyard, we have the best of Imperial engineering at your fingertips. Heed not the charlatans who claim that Al-Amraan engineering is the best; bollocks to that! If you need the ride with a lot of firepower, there's no better place to find it than right over here.” - Lord Alexion van der Werff, Baron of Huggins
The Airship is the bread and butter of a Captain's career, and much care need to be taken with regards on one's choice of Ship to command. The Shipyard is where a Captain may purchase a suitable Ship for his/her purposes, and can be accessed from the Home Page via Shops→ Shipyard.
All ships will have Weapon and Part Slots. For a detailed explanation, please take a look at the Hangar
There are currently 8 different Classes of Ships, each of which are progressively more powerful than the Class which came before. Captains need to gain enough EXP to reach certain Levels before gaining access to higher Classes of Ships.
Each Ship can be upgraded a maximum of 10 times at the Hangar. The price of purchase for each Ship (Gold and Resources) can be viewed at the Shipyard.
Captains are advised to check out Complete list of BattleStations! Ships for the Attributes of the Ship they wish to purchase.
Some Ships will require War Medals as a requirement for purchase.
Every Ship has four main Attributes, which a Captain must take into account when deciding which Ship will best fit his/her chosen Combat strategy. These are as follows:
Speed - The base Speed of the Ship. This can be increased by certain types of Parts (such as Sails and Engines) or decreased by other types (such as Hulls and Anchors). A high Speed is recommended for Captains pursuing a Missiler or a Rammer strategy, while a low Speed is recommended for Captains pursing a Tank strategy.
Hull Points (HP) - The overall toughness of the Ship, a quantifier for the amount of damage the Ship can sustain before it gets Sunk. HP can be increased by equipping Hulls and Figureheads, as well as some other Parts of other types. A high amount of HP is crucial for Captains intending to Tank damage from opponents; on the other hand, this Attribute can be sacrificed to a certain extent by Captains wishing to use Speed as their defensive strategy.
Weapon Slots - The number of Weapons a Ship can carry at any one time. Different types of Ships have varying amounts of Weapon Slots. The number of Weapon Slots, together with the Capacity, determines the kind of setup a Ship is suitable for.
Capacity - The maximum load a Ship can carry, which affects the kind of Weapons and Parts it can use at any one time. Low Capacity Ships tend to have more Weapon Slots, making them useful for carrying large numbers of light Weapons like Missiles; conversely, high Capacity Ships tend to have less Weapon Slots, making them suitable for holding several heavy Weapons like Rams.
